Our story

We are Open Arms Kington. In early 2023 we bought The Oxford Arms, a Grade II listed former coaching inn, which we’re transforming into a community hub with café, bar, and B&B accommodation. Together, we’re creating a place where everyone can feel a sense of “belonging”, and where good things happen every day. While we raise funds to carry out the extensive work required to restore the Grade II-listed building, we’ve turned our courtyard and ancient barn into beautiful event spaces. Our regular events range from craft cafes to healthcare checkups, Diwali celebrations to DJ nights, creative writing courses to antiques valuations, and so much more. Run almost entirely by volunteers, our team are creating an inclusive, warm and welcoming hub for all generations at The Oxford.
