The Droving History of Kington

As part of our regular heritage events, OAK social history researcher volunteer Annie Gamble leads a guided six-mile walk through Kington and the surrounding countryside following the footsteps of the Welsh drovers, for whom Kington was an important stop to trade, rest, and refuel before continuing their journey towards London.

For those unable to join one of Annie’s walks, we’ve created a video version. Explore Kington’s droving history and see its beautiful scenery, with local people as your guides.
