Whether you’ve been walking the hills and ridges of Kington as part of the walking festival or taking it easy, join us at The Oxford Arms on Sunday 21st September to celebrate this year’s edition. We’ll have Drover’s Bait ploughman’s lunches on offer, cakes from the Caravan Café, and our bar will be open all afternoon.
Plus there will be another chance to see two films made by OAK volunteers on the history of Kington. One focuses on the drovers who used to pass through town with thousands of animals, tracing their route, describing the history of the town and The Oxford, and reimagining the sights, sounds, and smells of droving life. The other offers a short history of Kington’s many pubs—over 40 at one point! The two films are short (20 mins) and will be shown on a loop in the barn throughout the afternoon.
